Charoite Stone Care and Cleaning
As we mentioned above, this gemstone is quite delicate and fragile. The degree of hardness is quite low. For this reason, it should be handled very delicately when cleaning and maintaining it. If you have reviewed our other articles, you are familiar with the following information. We do not recommend cleaning stones with a hardness below 7 according to the Mohs hardness degree with water. Exposing some stones to water for a long time and keeping them in water can cause the structure of the stone to deteriorate and even break, disintegrate and dissolve in water.
You can bury your gemstone in dry soil for 1 night, but there are more reliable methods available. For example, you can clean your stone by smoking it, leaving it to the moonlight on the full moon, keeping it next to a salt lamp, or placing it on the selenite stone.
For physical cleaning, it is sufficient to gently wipe it with a damp cloth. When you are not using it, it will prevent possible scratches and cracks to be stored in a protected pouch without contacting other jewelry.
